Tar soap from our grandmothers was always at hand. And even when there was an abundance of fragrant shampoos and other cosmetics for hair. Why this brownish and frankly unpleasantly smelling bar continued to persist in taking revenge on the shelf in the bathroom? And in case of any problems with the skin of the head, or if you suddenly get lice. Moreover, grandmothers firmly believed that from time to time washing the hair with tar soap was very useful. And they did it regularly. But is it really?

The composition of the tar

The main active component of quality tar soap is birch tar. It is a brownish substance with a characteristic odor, which is formed during the distillation of tree bark. In fact, it is a wood resin, in which all the beneficial properties of the plant, known even to our distant ancestors, are concentrated. They used such a natural medicine from the “forest pharmacy” for a variety of medical purposes and, as a rule, in their pure form.

Curious about the medical qualities of tar, modern scientists conducted a study of its composition and found in it:

  • phenols - components with antiseptic action,
  • Guaiacol is an antiseptic and bactericidal substance,
  • phytoncides - natural antibiotics, antiseptics,
  • cresols - anti-inflammatory components,
  • Minerals and trace elements - essential for healthy skin and hair.

Concrete essential oils, which are concentrated in tar, give a specific smell to the soap. It repels insects and has an antiviral effect. Therefore, in principle, our grandmothers were right - it is logical to use detour soap to fight lice and some skin diseases.

Even the famous “Vishnevsky Ointment” has been made on the basis of tar, which perfectly heals wounds and heals even deep boils.

Beneficial features

When there was no soap, it was necessary to mix the tar with the ash to wash the hair. It dissolves poorly in water, so it was not so easy to wash it off completely. But, fortunately, the modern industry produces soap, which contains about 10% of the tar, and the remaining components allow you to rinse your hair and skin well.

On the other hand, such a low concentration reduces the beneficial properties of the product. Nevertheless, natural soap has the following healing properties:

  • anti-inflammatory - quickly relieves redness and irritation of the skin, eliminates itching,
  • bactericidal - kills almost all microorganisms on the surface of the skin,
  • insecticidal - detrimental to lice and nits, and the smell frightens off new insects and serves as an excellent prevention of infection with head lice,
  • dry - slightly pores, reduces the activity of the sebaceous glands, accelerates the formation of crusts on wet wounds,
  • wound healing - accelerates the process of cell and tissue regeneration, promotes healing of wounds and microcracks in the skin.

Since various skin diseases of the scalp often provoke alopecia, a rational use of tar soap can also serve as a good remedy for hair loss.

Soap gets brownish tint due to the presence of tar in it, but it is not capable of dyeing hair, so even blondes can calmly wash themselves.

Remember that tar soap kills not only pathogenic, but also useful microflora, so excessive use of it can harm and reduce the protective properties of the skin.

Anti-dandruff

Dandruff can have a different nature. Sometimes the skin begins to peel off strongly due to insufficient activity of the sebaceous glands. Such dandruff is like finely ground flour and sprinkles from the head at the slightest touch to the hair, which becomes brittle and devoid of natural shine. To use tar soap in such a situation is strictly contraindicated - it will only aggravate the problem.

But with oily seborrhea or the fungal nature of dandruff, tar is just very useful - it will help you quickly solve the problem without resorting to strong pharmaceutical preparations.

Soap has an excellent drying and antifungal effect. It will eliminate excessive sebaceous excretion, improve skin condition and accelerate the detachment of the formed crusts.

To get a good result, you need to use it 2-3 times a week. And during this period, the usual shampoo or other detergents for the head is better not to use. Tar soap leaves a thin film on the skin and actually continues to work until the next wash. A shampoo, she washed off, and the effect of treatment will be weaker.

Skin diseases

We categorically do not recommend treating such serious scalp diseases, such as allergic dermatitis, psoriasis, etc., with tar soap, on our own. These problems require drug therapy and regular medical monitoring. Usually, a doctor prescribes strong pharmaceutical preparations for the period of exacerbation: sprays, ointments or hormonal pills.

Is it possible to wash your hair with tar soap during remission to accelerate the healing of scratches and wounds, the attending physician should say. Some really help the tool.

But sometimes it provokes a new exacerbation, since a large amount of phenols and essential oils on sensitive or diseased skin can also have a strong irritating effect.

Application features

Even such a useful natural product as tar soap is not suitable for everyone. The main contraindication to it is individual intolerance, which is not so rare.

Therefore, if you have never washed your hair with tar soap before - do an allergy test, applying thick foam to a small area of skin. In the absence of a negative reaction within 15-20 minutes, they can be safely used.

Experts also advise to adhere to the following recommendations:

  • It is not necessary to soap your hair with a piece of soap - you need to lather it well in your hands or prepare a warm soap solution. In liquid form, it is better distributed on the head of hair and easier to wash off the skin.
  • After the tar soap, the head should be washed very carefully, otherwise the hair will have an unpleasant greasy coating - the tar is poorly soluble in water.
  • When dry and hypersensitive scalp in the soap solution, be sure to add a tablespoon of high-quality natural oil: castor, burdock, almond.
  • Try to avoid getting soap suds in your eyes and mucous membranes, and if this happens, immediately rinse them with water.
  • It is not necessary to use this tool in case of heavily burned-out dyeing or chemical perm to hair and actively split ends.

According to the reviews of most people, provided the correct use of the tool is a really good home healer. But it can not be used constantly. For preventive purposes, washing your head with tar soap or shampoo is enough 2-3 times a month. In the medical - to undergo a course of treatment for 2-3 weeks, and then purchase high-quality regular shampoo.

Features

Outwardly, this soap is very similar to the economic, it differs only in a pronounced specific smell and a darker color. In addition to natural tar, it contains fats of animal origin or vegetable oils, water, thickeners, some composite cellulose, benzoic acid, disodium salt, citric acid and edible salt.

Thanks to natural ingredients, this product is a wonderful natural antiseptic with antibacterial, insecticidal and anti-inflammatory properties. The tool foams well, regardless of whether it is a solid soap or liquid.

Can I wash my hair

Today, despite the huge selection of products for washing hair, the usual tar soap holds a special position among them. And this is not a novelty, but a long-known natural cleaner. Even in ancient Russia, the owners of long and healthy braids knew about the miraculous power of wood tar.

With frequent washing with this product, the hair begins to grow faster, it becomes thicker, they become less fatty and get rid of dandruff.

Benefit and harm

Like any caregiver, tar soap has its strengths and weaknesses. The healing properties of this resin relieve the skin of the head from increased fat and dandruff, improve the blood supply to the hair follicles and give volume and density to the hair, and also help to cure skin diseases (psoriasis, versicolor, seborrhea, dermatitis, eczema, furunculosis) and restore the hair structure after staining and chemical perms.

This natural antiseptic copes with pediculosis. Tar with alkali destroys lice and nits already from the first application, it is enough to hold it on the hair for 5 minutes. Also, this soap is useful for people who are allergic to the chemical components of ordinary shampoos.

The disadvantages include a peculiar smell, which, by the way, quickly disappears. For some, it is unpleasant, but to someone this scent resembles a Russian bathhouse and birch twigs. With frequent use, this tool dries the scalp and hair, so owners of thin, porous and damaged curls should be used with caution. Birch resin is also contraindicated for women during lactation.

Every 3 weeks is a weekly rest from the use of soap. An alternative to using the product is to add it to the usual detergent: 100 ml of shampoo 2 tbsp. soap. Use the standard method.

How to wash hair with tar soap

The properties of tar soap are very valuable, so it is used for hair, face, body. The tool has antiparasitic, antibacterial, drying, accelerating tissue repair properties. In order for it to benefit curls, you need to follow important recommendations:

  1. The head is washed only with foam, the bar itself cannot be in contact with the hair. Foam well whipped with wet hands or a gauze bag. Another way to obtain a fluffy foam: grind a grated bar, dissolve the resulting chips in warm water, pour it into a basin for washing the head. Water is taken warm, not hot, otherwise the active component of the soap will lose its medicinal properties, will become liquid, will cover the strands with an unpleasant greasy film that will be difficult to wash off.
  2. After applying the foam on the scalp it should be left for 5-7 minutes. So the active component will have a better effect on the problem, it will penetrate deep into.
  3. The foam is washed off with warm water until the hair is clean to the touch (a “creaking” sound appears). To eliminate the unpleasant smell of tar, hair should be rinsed with acidified water (2 tablespoons of citric or acetic acid per liter of water).
  4. Constantly use soap can not. It dries the tips, can lead to their section. It is advisable to do a course of treatment and preventive procedures every month, then take a break for 30 days.
  5. Before using tar soap, you need to test for allergies, because birch tar is an allergenic substance. To do this, apply a small amount of foam on the bend of the elbow or wrist for 15 minutes, rinse. If during this time there is no redness, irritation of the skin, you can safely use the product to care for hair.
  6. In the first 2-3 days of using birch tar hair will be hard, sticky, dull. This is a normal reaction, because strands "wean" from previously used store care. To solve the problem will help the use of lemon juice, vinegar for rinsing. Over time, the curls will become accustomed to natural care, become strong, fluffy, shiny.
  7. If hard water flows from the tap, it needs to be filtered or softened with baking soda, chamomile decoction, vinegar, and lemon juice.
  8. After applying the soap as a shampoo, it will not be superfluous to apply a balm, conditioner or mask on the tips and 2/3 of the length.
  9. For dry scalp tar tar soap is used with caution. Foam should not be kept longer than 5 minutes in order not to cause even greater dryness.

The benefits of tar soap for the scalp

With the help of tar soap you can get rid of dandruff, relieve itching. It is good to use this cosmetic tool for people with oily scalp, as it has a drying effect. In addition, the hair begins to grow stronger, decreases their loss, they become stronger and healthier.

Many women are afraid to use tar soap because of its unpleasant smell. However, it disappears very quickly. To speed up this process, you can use special masks or balsams with perfume fragrances.

Wash your head with warm water. Well, if it is soft. This can be achieved by adding ordinary soda to tap water. Before you apply the soap on your hair, you need to beat it in foam.

If you want to improve the condition of your hair, special attention should be paid to shampoos that you use. A frightening figure - in 97% of shampoos of famous brands are substances that poison our body. The main components, due to which all the troubles, on the labels are designated as sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium laureth sulfate, coco sulfate. These chemicals destroy the structure of the hair, the hair becomes brittle, lose elasticity and strength, the color fades. But the worst thing is that this filth enters the liver, heart, lungs, accumulates in the organs and can cause cancer. We advise against using the means in which these substances are located. Recently, experts of our editorial staff conducted an analysis of sulfate-free shampoos, where the first place was taken by funds from the company Mulsan Cosmetic. The only manufacturer of all-natural cosmetics. All products are manufactured under strict quality control and certification systems. We recommend to visit the official online store mulsan.ru. If you doubt the naturalness of your cosmetics, check the expiration date, it should not exceed one year of storage.

Often, after shampooing, hair loses shine and is difficult to comb. To avoid this, rinse them with herbal decoction, lemon juice or water with acetic acid.

You should not expect that after the application of tar soap, your hair will gain thickness and strength. For the emergence of a positive effect may require at least a month of its regular use. Sometimes women after the monthly use of tar soap refuse shampoos and completely switch to this tool.

Getting rid of lice with tar soap

From ancient times tar was used to get rid of parasites. Its popularity is due to the safety of this tool for human health. But tar soap has poor efficacy in the treatment of pediculosis. To use it to get rid of lice, it takes a lot of effort.

For the removal of parasites is most convenient to use soap in liquid form.

Here are two aspen recipes:

  • On wet hair need to apply tar soap, soak for 10 minutes and rinse with warm water. After the procedure you need to carefully comb the hair with a fine comb.
  • The second option: carefully lather wet hair and leave the foam for an hour, after wrapping your head with plastic wrap and a towel. An hour later, wash the soap and comb the hair with a comb.

Tar soap can be used to treat and prevent fleas in pets.

Tar soap for hair

Today I want to answer one more question. Is it possible to wash hair with tar soap and how to do it correctly?

To begin with, it must be said that tar soap of Russian origin, which can be found on our market, is a natural soap. On its label is usually written NSLC (sodium salts of fatty acids), and then a list of the oils from which soap is made. Or it is written in the composition - sodium cocoate, sodium palmat - these are the same NSLC, only in other words.

In industrial tar soap, the tar content is standard - 10%. In home soap there can be various options from 1 to 10%.

To those who have never tried to wash their hair with tar soap - such a procedure seems awesome. In vain. Tar is a very good remedy for dandruff (checked personally), with oily scalp and hair loss. It is a powerful natural antiseptic with antifungal and antibacterial properties. It dries the scalp, regulates the sebaceous glands, improves blood supply to the scalp, nourishes the hair follicles. As a result, we get the therapeutic effect: dandruff disappears, fat content disappears, hair stops falling out.

How to wash hair with tar soap? Here are some tips personally tested on the soap of your home-made:

Some people recommend applying only the foam on the hair, and leave it on the hair for 5-10 minutes. This option did not suit me, because with my long and thick hair it is too long and tiring. I soaped the hair themselves, and did not notice much difference. Although, if you have naturally thin hair, it is quite possible that it makes sense to apply only foam on them.

And finally, my personal impressions from the use of tar shampoo soap. She cooked it for herself because dandruff appeared. At first, it became even more noticeable - dandruff was detached from the scalp and began to actively leave it. After 1.5 months of dandruff was gone. The smell of tar soap is not that strong. After drying the hair, it was noticeable only at a distance of 5-10 cm. On the 2-3rd day, the smell could be felt only if you smell the hair. The most unexpected effect for me - the hair on the comb began to remain 5-10 times less! In principle, my hair did not fall out, a few pieces on a comb - the norm to which I got used since childhood. And then there are almost none! This fact just struck me! Since then, tar soap is one of my favorite shampoo soaps.

So if you decide to treat your scalp with tar soap - make up your mind! How to do it right and what to look for, you now know.

How to make tar soap by yourself

Since tar soap has a wide range of useful qualities, it is good to always have it on hand. Soap can be purchased at any household chemical store. Its price varies from 15 to 30 rubles.

However, you can prepare such a useful product yourself.

This will require the following components:

  • Birch tar, which can be purchased at the pharmacy,
  • Baby or laundry soap
  • Large grater and a tablespoon,
  • Utensils for the preparation of a water bath,
  • Form for soap.

Stages of manufacturing tar soap:

  1. Grate soap (baby or household).
  2. Put the soap heated in a water bath.
  3. It is important to ensure that water does not boil. When the soap starts to melt, you need to add some water to it. It should continuously stir the resulting mixture.
  4. When the composition becomes sticky, you need to add tar to it. On one piece of soap will require 2 tbsp. fly in the ointment.
  5. All components must be thoroughly mixed.
  6. When the mixture becomes a uniform color, the soap should be removed from heat, cooled to 50 degrees and poured into forms.

If the soap cools at room temperature, then you should not cover it with anything. When the soap is taken out to fresh air to eliminate the smell, cover the molds with a film or cloth.

The shelf life of this soap is 2 years. It is best to keep it wrapped in paper. Soap home-made soap is no worse than a store product, and it will not dry the skin too much.

It should be understood that tar soap solves only cosmetic problems, that is, acts locally. Treatment of skin diseases often requires systemic therapy, for which it is necessary to seek medical advice.

Although the modern cosmetology market offers a lot of skin care products, tar soap remains a popular product. And it's not only in its price, soap with tar really works. Therefore, millions of men and women use it for medical, cosmetic and wellness purposes.

How to properly wash the hair on the head

Shampooing is an action that any person has been accustomed to since childhood. This procedure becomes basic in the framework of proper hair care. Without thorough and regular hair washing, any means for the care and restoration of curls will be ineffective. And although the action is simple, you need to know how to wash your hair.

Soap instead of shampoo?

There are a lot of options for suitable products that help to maintain good beauty and healthy hair. Often an alternative to the usual shampoo is soap. This can be soap baby, household, tar. But any soap has one negative feature - it contains alkali. The higher the index of its content, the more abundant the resulting lather will be. But it is alkali harms the hair.

The use of any soap implies extremely long, thorough washing of the hair. But even in this case, it is not always possible to get rid of the formed, often visually noticeable, gray-white bloom on the curls.

In view of such a hair, it can get dirty faster, the fat content of the hair can increase, and the curls themselves become a “magnet” for smells, dust, and other contaminants.

Separately stands out in this list soap with tar. Before applying it is worth considering that this tool has a strong, not the most pleasant smell that remains after washing on the hair. And the first 14-20 days of curls can be too greasy and naughty, mess quickly and badly break, fall out. So is the "period of adaptation" to the detergent. After it, usually the hair becomes stronger, thicker, healthier and grows better.

You shouldn't wash your hair with tar soap very often. Once a week - the best option. And if such a tool is chosen, then at the end of the procedure it is worth using a soft balm, and in some cases a hair conditioner.

Is it possible to regularly use shampoos "2 in 1" or "3 in 1"?

Bottles, which appear on the inscription that the product contains three components at once - shampoo, conditioner, balm - are found on the shelves of stores everywhere. However, such tools are unacceptable to apply every day or even every other day. These shampoos are suitable for use on trips or somewhere in the country, but not for regular shampooing at home.

Two or three ingredients in one bottle neutralize each other’s actions. Therefore, cleansing of the hair is too superficial, the balm does not help the curls to recover and become obedient, and the conditioner is not able to perform its function - to protect the hair from external influence. Such a cleanser also does not relieve dandruff and itch, but only “disguises” the problem.

If you need to wash your hair often, then you should choose shampoos that are designed specifically for daily use. The consistency they are softer and less harm to hair.

What to replace shampoo or soap?

There are a lot of alternative variants based on folk recipes. Each of the means, in addition to the immediate task of cleaning the hair from contamination, can also have a certain therapeutic effect. For example, strengthen curls, stimulate their growth, get rid of dryness or, on the contrary, excessive fat.

For washing the head, and often enough, you can use the following "improvised" means:

  1. white clay
  2. colorless henna
  3. rye flour, bread,
  4. eggs, egg yolk,
  5. starch, can be used in dry form,
  6. decoctions of combinations of various herbs, for example, chamomile and coltsfoot, are primarily suitable for rinsing, but washing their heads is also acceptable,
  7. soda,
  8. beet broth,
  9. mustard powder
  10. honey in combination with chamomile extract or decoction.

Proper shampooing technique

The usual procedure of washing hair should be performed correctly and have a certain sequence of actions. Only taking into account the nuances you can achieve the desired result and not harm the hair.

  1. Before starting water treatments for the hair, you must select and prepare all the necessary tools. It is useful to prepare and a couple of thick towels, which can be heated before drying the hair.
  2. Going under the shower, you must first carefully but carefully comb the hair. This will favorably affect the cleanliness of the hair afterwards, and will also allow you to wash all dead skin scales.
  3. Having set a sufficiently strong water pressure, you should choose not the highest temperature. Properly wash your hair with running water, not hotter than 45 degrees.
  4. Before you start shampooing your hair, you need to thoroughly wet your hair over the entire length.
  5. Squeezing a small amount, even in a situation with very long curls, the amount of detergent, it is necessary to grind it between the palms.

When a balm, conditioner or mask is applied after the main product, such caring cosmetics are applied on slightly dried curls, stepping back from the roots about 8-15 centimeters, the focus should be on the tips.

The whole water procedure is completed by drying the strands. Squeeze, twist and strongly rub the hair can not. This will damage the cuticle (upper layer), provoke a fallout, because under the influence of water strands become heavier and weaker. Or rather wet the hair with a dry and clean towel.

Drying hair in a natural way or with the help of warm towels is the best option. If the use of a hair dryer is required, then you need to select the “gentle mode” and use “cold airflow”, and also not to bring the device close to the hair.

It is not recommended to resort to ironing, straightening and leveling the strands when the hair is wet, as well as combing the curls immediately after washing. This causes heavy hair loss and can lead to baldness.

Every person needs to wash his hair at least once a week, performing the procedure correctly in order to avoid:

  • the appearance of dandruff and various diseases associated not only with the skin on the head or hair,
  • eliminate the risk of early gray hair,
  • help your hair resist negative influences from the outside, keep your hair in a healthy and attractive way,
  • prevent the development of itching, due to which the skin can be injured, and also because of it the hair follicles can suffer, which will also lead to loss of hairs and their slow growth.

How to learn to wash your hair less often?

In some cases, when the hair becomes too naughty or greasy or compels other circumstances, it may be necessary to switch from a mode of washing the head once a day to a rarer one. How to achieve this?

  1. Apply dry shampoo or starch to clean hair.
  2. Try to touch the curls less often in the daytime, so as not to leave on them invisible to the eye pollution and not to provoke more fat.
  3. Carefully comb strands, especially before bedtime. It is recommended to use a brush or a comb made from natural material.
  4. Carefully wash the hair with every shampooing so that there is no shampoo or other means in the hair that can attract more dust and cause peeling of the skin.
  5. Use quality care cosmetics for curls, it is useful to resort to professional tools, if there is such an opportunity.
  6. Trying to collect long hair in the tail or braids, so less dirt or bacteria will fall on them.
  7. Abandon the use of means for fixing or laying that you want to wash off before going to bed.

Properties of tar soap for hair

The composition of tar soap is simple - 90% of animal fat acids and vegetable oils and 10% of tar. Omit the first 90%. The last 10% is important for us. It is believed that it is this "spoon of tar" has a beneficial effect on the condition of the hair. Let us find out what trichologists will say on this score:

  • Tar soap has a drying effect, due to which less sebum is secreted and the hair remains fresh for a long time.
  • Tar is a natural antiseptic, and in combination with alkali that contains soap, it actively fights against the increased acidity of the scalp and prevents the formation of oily seborrhea.
  • The tar has an irritating effect on the scalp, providing an additional flow of blood and nutrients to the hair follicles, thereby stimulating hair growth.
  • Substances in tar soap have a positive effect on the hair structure, making them stronger and more resistant to external damage.
  • Tar has been known for its anti-parasitic properties since ancient times. Trichologists even recommend using it for the prevention and treatment of pediculosis. Such a product will not only help excrete parasites, but also heal the scalp.
  • Another healing property of the product is antifungal action. If you regularly wash your hair with tar soap, you can cure the scalp fungus without resorting to serious therapy and antibiotics.

There is a beauty legend that tar soap helps restore the natural pigment in hair that has already turned gray. However, trichologists are skeptical of this belief, noting that the reverse process of pigmentation of gray-haired strands is unrealistic, just as it is not possible to prevent their occurrence. The time of occurrence of gleams of gray hair laid at the genetic level. Someone and in extreme old age can retain the natural pigment, and someone has the first silver threads begin to appear as early as 20 years.

Tar soap: use and harm for hair

Each medal has two sides, and even the best medicine can be poison, and before blindly following the advice, you should carefully discern where the “good” and where the “harm”. Only by carefully weighing these points should everyone decide for themselves whether this method is appropriate.

Use of tar soap for hair

Consider the usefulness of this controversial hygiene product in relation to a rather nonspecific area for it - hair.

  • The first positive and most obvious point is the natural composition. So, the curls will not accumulate "chemistry", strands will not suffer from parabens and silicones, which are so generously supplied with modern hair care products.
  • Cosmetic effect is the main reason for using tar soap. Such a product is just perfect for fat-prone loses of volume. If you regularly wash your hair with tar soap, then the coveted volume will appear, and the strands will be less likely to need washing.
  • Note to men! Popular rumor claims that with hair loss can save tar. Trichologists look at this statement is not so optimistic, but, nevertheless, sometimes recommend to use this product as a preventive measure against baldness. Tar, irritating to the scalp, increases blood flow to the roots, thus prolonging their life.
  • When using tar soap, hair becomes denser and look visually thicker and stronger. And all due to the fact that the tar, penetrating into keratin, fills the damaged areas, making the curls more elastic and strong.

Harm of tar soap for hair

Rainbow picture can spoil the very notorious "fly in the ointment."

  • Tar soap is able to dry out the skin and even provoke the formation of dry seborrhea, and if this trouble is already present, then there is a risk of further aggravating it. Moreover, the abuse of the product can cause hair loss. So remember - tar soap is contraindicated for dry scalp type.
  • Also, this product is contraindicated for owners of dry or damaged hair. The soap draws moisture from keratin even more, provoking the breakage of strands and the appearance of split ends.
  • Tar - a strong allergen, and therefore before the use of any product containing this component in its composition, it is necessary to conduct testing.
  • If soap is used incorrectly, it will make the hair naughty and will increase their electrification. About beautiful styling will only dream.
  • Tar soap differs sharp specific smell that can cause rejection, not only you but also the people around you. And getting rid of the "flavor" will be quite difficult.

To prevent you from pursuing the unpleasant smell of tar, add a few drops of any citrus essential oil to your rinse. The citrus scent is able to completely kill the strong tar smell, or at least help somewhat to muffle it.

How to wash your hair with tar soap

To begin with, let's look at whether it is possible to wash your hair with tar soap or is this another pseudo-popular recipe? In fact, you can, however, just like any other soap. But the cosmetic effect will be appropriate - just clean hair without additional care and effects. In other words, after applying this hygienic product, additional grooming procedures will be required to bring the hair into proper condition.

Even if you have determined for yourself that tar soap is completely your product, suitable for all indications and individual characteristics of hair and scalp, and you agree to spend additional time on restoring curls after the procedure, you should follow a number of important rules.

  • Do not soap your hair in a bar. You can only use soap suds for washing your hair. To form a thick foam, it is enough to dissolve a previously crushed piece of soap in a container, and then beat the water with your hands until a stable soap substrate is formed. Or, grind the bar in the hands to the formation of the desired volume of foam substance.
  • Do not use too hot water to wash and rinse hair. In hot water, the tar melts, and falling on the curls envelops them like wax. In the future, the soap will be very difficult to wash. As a result, instead of a voluminous hairstyle, you will get dull stuck together strands. The ideal temperature for the procedure is 34 - 37 degrees. It is in this mode that the soap can completely dissolve, but it will not stick to the hair.
  • Soap foam should be applied only to the hair roots and scalp, without focusing on the tips of the strands. If there is a tendency to cross-section, then it is better to protect the tips from contact with soap. Otherwise, the problem will only get worse.
  • Do not overdo the foam. Maximum 4 min. The tar is such a strong component that it can dry out even oily skin, leading subsequently to hair loss.
  • For the procedure, it is desirable to use soft water. It forms a foam better and in this way less soap will be applied to the hair. It will also be easy to wash it off.
  • For rinsing the head, it is imperative to add vinegar to the water, it will help to wash the hair, partially neutralize the smell of tar and provide shine to the curls. Make a solution at the rate of 1 tsp. 80% acetic acid to 2 liters. water, or 1 tbsp. apple vinegar on 1 l. water.
  • After washing with tar soap, it is advisable to rinse the head twice. Only in this case, you are guaranteed to remove the remnants of the product from the curls.
  • At the end of the procedure, you should apply a moisturizing balm or hair oil, paying attention to the tips. Remember, tar soap can dry even greasy hair. So apply the balm, evenly distributing the entire length of the curls.

How to wash, and most importantly - how to wash? Tips and Tricks

Those who decide to use this tool will face a trick - it is poorly washed off and leaves a feeling of sticky film on the hair. A lot of ladies refused to try to improve their curls after the first attempt, when instead of shining hair they got hanging "icicles" and "tow". In general, it makes no sense to wash your hair with tar soap, if you do not know some of the nuances:

  • Our hair is already spoiled by all sorts of "bottle chemistry", and in order to get used to an unusual means, they will need several procedures. According to reviews of experienced users, it is necessary to suffer for less than two weeks so that such negative effects as stickiness, dullness and confusion cease to appear. To try a novelty, choose a time when you will not need to flaunt a beautiful hairdo.
  • It is better to take warm water for washing hair with tar soap, as hot it decomposes the useful ingredients of birch tar to useless ones, and the effect of the film on the hair is mainly from them.
  • Before you begin to wash your hair, take care of the rinse aid - it is necessary to ensure the hair fluffiness and to get rid of the unpleasant smell. Tar soap from hair is washed off with water acidified with table vinegar (tablespoon per liter). It is even better to use apple cider vinegar (the proportions can be slightly increased) or lemon juice, and take decoctions of herbs instead of water. If you have no idea how you can wash your hair without a purchased rinse - use the appropriate remedy for your hair.
  • Prepared all necessary - we start washing. Do not rub the hair on the bar - so harm them, and the beneficial ingredients will not get a chance to heal all areas to the full. Soak a piece of soap in your hands, then apply the foam on the scalp and hair along the entire length, massage your head and wait 5 minutes with rinsing - a kind of healing mask forms on your hair.

Usually they quickly get used to the specific smell of soap, and it disappears completely from the hair after a couple of hours. In the bathroom, dried bar is best stored in a closed soap dish.

Is it helpful for everyone?

There are tar tar soap properties that do not allow to use it to everyone without exception. Birch tar affects the sebaceous glands of the scalp, and it reduces the amount of secretion they produce. Simply put, soap with its content "dries", and therefore owners of normal hair should be used, closely watching their reaction.

Those who have dry, brittle hair, moreover, the scalp differs by special dryness with signs of flaking, it is better to refuse the use of tar soap for washing the head.

There is no redness and itching - feel free to use it for washing your head.
